GLENVIEW – Glenview Haus’ is planning its 5th Annual Tent Party. This all-day celebration will put revelers in the Oktoberfest feeling. Inspired by the world’s most popular German event, Glenview “Haus” (located at 1843 Glenview Road) will host the all-day Oktoberfest celebration on Saturday, September 17, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The fest will feature authentic grub, grog and live German music in the 80’ by 30’ Oktoberfest tent in the railroad parking lot directly west of the restaurant. Event-goers can say “prost” with liters ($12) and half liters ($7) of Munich’s Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest, Hacker-Pschorr Weis and Sam Adams Oktoberfest brews. Commemorative cups ($5 each) will be on hand to use throughout the day and attendees from previous years are encouraged to bring their signature Glenview Haus cups with them.
Chef Jeff Modica will serve festive Bavarian food specialties from brats ($5), giant pretzels ($9) and German plates ($9) loaded with a brat, German potato salad and sauerkraut. New this year, Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt will be on site for a cool treat available all day.
While filling up on food and beer under the festival tent, attendees can dance the polka as the six-piece Die Musikmeisters band play a rousing blend of traditional German music from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Families of all ages can join in on the merriments with a jump house from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and face painting throughout the day.
