WILMETTE – A resident of the 3720 Lake Avenue reported to the Wilmette Police Department that her white 1997 Lexus was stolen from her driveway between 9 p.m. on September 2 and 12:40 a.m. on September 3 – and that the only key for the vehicle was in her possession. The car was then involved in a traffic crash at the 1200 block of Arthur Avenue, Chicago, where the driver fled the scene and was located a few blocks away with two or three other people in another vehicle, according to the Wilmette PD. Chicago Police Department officers took the suspects into custody.
Forced entry
A resident of Wilmette told police that between 9 p.m. on September 2 and 12:30 p.m. on September 3, a person or people used brute force to gain entry into his garage access door. Items stored inside the doorway appear to have prevented entry, according to the WPD.
Retail Theft
The evening of September 4, employees of the Walgreens at 3232 Lake Street
reported that two men entered the store, filled bags with razors and other items and
then fled in a silver Ford Focus driven by a woman.
