Wilmette, Glencoe and Winnetka faced contested elections as residents cast their votes for fellow residents running for various official positions on Election Day April 4. Even New Trier Township faced an unprecedented contested election for its Board of Trustees, with seven residents running for four open seats.
The following are the unofficial results of several contested elections in these communities, according to the Cook County Clerk’s Office as of 10:22 p.m. April 4. Of 1,534,858 registered voters, 17% voted.
Wilmette
Board of Commissioners, Wilmette Park District (three open seats):
- Christopher Lewis, 11.06%, 1,426 votes
- Amy Wolfe, 31.46%, 4,056 votes
- Ian Gordon Anderson, 28.69%, 3,698 votes
- Bryan Campbell Abbott, 28.79%, 3,711 votes
Village Board of Trustees (three open seats):
- Kathy Dodd, 31.7%, 3,852 votes
- Joel Kurzman, 21.39%, 2,599 votes
- Stephen Leonard, 25.96%, 3,155 votes
- Reinhard Schneider, 20.95%, 2,546 votes
D39 Board of Education (four open seats):
- Lisa Schneider-Fabes, 23.6%, 4,011 votes
- Jonathan Cesaretti, 23.19%, 3,942 votes
- Ellen Sternweiler, 22.9%, 3,892 votes
- Mark Steen, 23.11%, 3,929 votes
