WILMETTE – Please plan on attending the annual guided bird walk in Gillson Park, where Go Green leaders help identify what we are seeing. Look for colorful warblers and other migrating birds that use the lakefront to rest and eat on their way north. The Illinois shoreline juts farthest into Lake Michigan at Gillson Park, making it an excellent spot to observe migrant birds and an important place for their survival as they take their long journey north every spring.
Guided bird walks will begin at the corner of Lake Ave. and Michigan Ave. All experience levels and ages are welcome. Bring binoculars if you have them. First walk begins at 7 a.m., second walk begins at 8 a.m.
Plan to join fellow bird enthusiasts the remaining Sundays of the month: May 17, 24 and 31. Parking is available at the Gillson Park swim beach. Sponsored by Go Green Wilmette and the Wilmette Park District.
