Regina students react to seeing the solar eclipse on Monday, August 21
WILMETTE – Regina Dominican High School celebrated the solar eclipse on Monday, August 21. During advisory, students watched a video on eclipse safety. During the passing periods, peer leaders played “sun themed” music over the P.A. During Science classes, teachers discussed the astronomical aspects of solar and lunar eclipses.
During lunch periods, we watched news coverage on the event and at 1:20 p.m. when the eclipse happened in our area, we gathered as a community outside on our athletic field. Our physics and astronomy teacher, Mr. Ken Finder, made sure that all of our students, faculty, and staff had on NASA-approved glasses for the viewing.
