Savontae Garner came up with the finishing touch.
His 10-yard run in overtime lifted Glenbrook South to a thrilling 27-21 victory over visiting Conant on Sept. 8.
Three games. Three wins.
The Titans used a balanced attack — 175 rushing yards, 119 passing yards — to keep their undefeated record intact.
Solid defense also was a key, as the Titans stopped Conant (1-2) on a fourth-down call in overtime.
Garner, making his first start of the 2017 season, scored three touchdowns in the contest. He finished with a team-best 63 yards on 15 carries.
Sophomore running back Andrew Gall also had a TD run. He ended up with 53 yards on 10 carries.
Senior Jalen Covington (8-36) and Jack Jerfita (4-15) also contributed to the running game.
Jeffery Chrones played well at quarterback. The senior completed 12 of 20 passes for 119 yards with no interceptions.
His favorite targets included Aidan O’Dea (3-23), Ben Hides (3-22), Charlie MacKimm (2-24) and Brandon Streb (1-27). Garner also had a 10-yard reception.
Defensively, inside linebacker Conor Nash led the way with 12 tackles. He shared a sack with Ryan O’Hara (4 tackles).
Brendan Darcy (7 tackles), Cam Gottfred (7 tackles), Anthony Savino (6 tackles), Zach Adams (6 tackles, fumble recovery), Peter Thein (5 tackles) and Andy Sirakides (interception) also made big contributions.
Glenbrook North 34, Elk Grove 24
Glenbrook North improved to 3-0 with a 34-24 home win over Elk Grove on Sept. 8.
Barrington 36, New Trier 9
New Trier fell to 1-2 with a 36-9 setback against visiting Barrington on Sept. 8.
