WILMETTE – The District 39 Educational Foundation will host its 4th Annual “Attire to Inspire” Fashion Show at the Michigan Shores Club on Thursday, September 28, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
With a buffet lunch, boutique shopping, a raffle, a fashion show, and an anticipated 180 guests in attendance, the afternoon offers a memorable community event. Co-chairs Kim Peters and Jen Truszkowski began planning the event in early summer 2017. This year’s luncheon varies from the formal sit-down lunch of previous years, and instead offers a buffet meal with flexible seating.
Shortening the length of the fashion show and lengthening the runway with chairs arranged along both sides, similar to a real fashion show, allows for guests to capture a close-up view of the fall fashions, and allows more time for shopping and socializing. With 10 local boutiques from Wilmette, Winnetka, and Evanston, displaying the latest fall styles and home goods, shoppers will revel in selections from Exhibit, Share, Dragonfly, Sara Campbell, Hubba Hubba, J McLaughlin, Vibrato, Skandal, Lad & Lassie, and Yogaview.
Fifteen percent of all sales will be donated back to the Foundation and stores will continue to donate 15% of all sales for a week following the event. The 20 models include members from the District 39 school’s PTA/O Executive Boards, D39 Superintendent Ray Lechner, D39 Educational Foundation board members, as well as D39 School Board member Terri Bielinkski. An $85 ticket includes a buffet lunch and valet parking.
With an additional $39 donation, attendees will receive a D39 Educational Foundation branded recyclable Baggu bag. Attendees can purchase one $39 raffle ticket (or 3 tickets for $100) to win a coveted Trivia Night table. All net proceeds from the “Attire to Inspire” Fashion Show benefit the District 39 Educational Foundation.
The District 39 Educational Foundation has been incorporated as a 501 (C) (3) nonprofit organization since 1993.
