For the entire month of October, a new photography exhibit entitled ‘Hats Around the World’, with 35 photographs by 12 Wilmette photographers, is on display at North Shore Community Bank, 1145 Wilmette Avenue. Bank hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm; Saturday 8:30 am-1:00 pm. A variety of hats from Australia, Denmark, Egypt, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Mexico, Singapore as well as across the United States are featured.

An opening reception on October 5 featured award-winning violinist Rachel Hsu of Wilmette, performing classical works by Kreisler, Shostakovich, Piazzolla, Brahms, Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky, Sarasate, Bach, Paganini, Ravel, Glazunov, and Massenet.

Rich Fisher’s large, colorful metal prints of the costumes and masks at Carnival in Venice are not to be missed.  At the bank’s welcome desk, visitors will find Faye Jacobs’ heartfelt tribute to lifelong Wilmette resident Judy Jablong Judlo, who unexpectedly passed away one year ago.  Faye’s photo of Judy and her sparkling smile, surrounded by Red Hat Society ladies at a Chicago theater, is touching.
